The Sacred Heart Statue
On Sunday 7th May, the renovated statue of the Sacred Heart was blessed. We pray for Sabina Deadman RIP and all those who gave donations to fund this.

At the end of Mass, Sheila Breed spoke about what the statue meant to her.
Friday was a very emotional day for myself and for others in church. Why? Because our Sacred Heart statue had come home.
Some may see it only as a statue, but it has been in my life since I was a little five year old! It has helped me to focus my prayers not only in Mass but on the many times that I needed to talk to Jesus. I could come into church with my troubles and concerns, and leave with a feeling of peace. I can look at this statue and hear the words, "Come to me all who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest." I am sure that you will agree that it is a wonderful restoration and we are very grateful for the very kind donation of £500 from a parishioner and £300 from the Friends of St. Gregory's. We are hoping to get a larger plinth so that there is more room for flowers. Lastly, for all the people who have been baptised and have died here, may they rest in the peace of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Amen.
A new shelf for the Sacred Heart statue was made and donated to the parish by Martin Moloney, a furniture maker from Sileby. We are most appreciative of this kind and generous gesture.
