Theme of today’s Mass: “Our Faith”: Faith gives us a new vision of the world. Without it we only see the darker side of life. We are still slaves. It is faith that liberates us and makes us see the Spirit of power and love at work in our lives.
Sick list: Please pray for the following members of our parish: Beryl Ford, Bernard Moyers, Patrick Hodgson, Ida De Melo, Maurice Nixon, Irene Pallot, Eva Shirreffs, Stefania Stasior, Angela Doyle.
Finances: Collection: 29th September: £120.72. Mass Offering: £10.00. Smarties (22/9): £12.60. Candles: £4.50. Many thanks. (Cheques to be made payable to: St Gregory’s RC Church)
CAFOD Harvest Fast Day : Envelopes will be collected in a second collection today. If you have forgotten your envelope, you can hand it in next Sunday. Produce displayed in front of the altar today can be bought (by donation) after Mass in the Social Centre.

First Holy Communion: If there are any children who would like to make their First Holy Communion, please see Fr John or Rebecca. They should be in School Year 3 or above to be eligible.
Visiting the sick: Eucharistic Ministers take the Blessed Sacrament to sick parishioners, some of whom would appreciate seeing other members of our community. If you would like to accompany Stephen Giacchino on his visit after Mass on a Sunday, please have a word with him.

“For where there are two or three gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”(Matthew 18:20)

Altar Servers: We shall be buying some new cassocks for our altar servers. However, these are expensive and we do need to know exactly how many we need and what sizes are required. Therefore, would all serversplease be sure to be at Mass on Sunday 27th October so that essential stock-taking can be carried out.
Shoebox appeal: Michelle Cafferky will make an appeal for the shoebox scheme (linktohope.co.uk) before the final blessing today. There will be a poster on the notice board that contains all relevant details. She also has fliers to hand out to people if they are interested. The completed shoeboxes need to be returned to Michelle no later than the 16th November
PPC Meeting: The Parish Pastoral Council met on Wednesday 25th September. Minutes of the meeting can be read on the parish website. There is also a copy posted at the back of church.
Christmas Fayre & Raffle: Raffle tickets are available today after Massin the Social Centre. Please help to distribute these around the parish by taking some addressed envelopes and putting them through the letter-box of other parishioners who may not be here today. This has proved a very effective way of gaining maximum coverage of the parish, but it does depend on as many of us as possible taking on the modest role of postie. Please take as many as possible to sell to your friends and neighbours. Could we ask the usual stallholders, and anyone else who may be willing to help, to come to a short meeting after Mass next Sunday, 13th October to put everything in place.
Red Missio Boxes: Please leave your red Missio boxes at the back of church so that they can be emptied. If you have forgotten to bring yours today, please bring it next Sunday. If you would like to join the scheme, please see Bron Coleman.
After Mass: Please come and join us in the Social Centre for a cup of tea/coffee/soft drink and a chat. If you are a newcomer or a visitor you are particularly welcome.
