41stAnnual Justice and Peace Conference: The conference will be convened from Friday 26thto Sunday 28thJuly near Alfreton on the theme of “Forgotten People, Forgotten Places”. In answer to Pope Francis’s call for ‘a Church which is poor and for the poor’, the 2019 Conference will work with Church Action on Poverty who are undertaking a three year project to challenge all Churches about where they put their resources. It will also hear from ‘communities of praxis’ who are already working on the margins, and who engage in social analysis and theological reflection from the perspective of the marginalised. This national event, taking place within our diocese, offers an exciting opportunity to develop social action in our parishes, deepening current initiatives and finding fresh perspectives.
Sponsor a Mass Book: Please give some thought to the possibility of sponsoring a Mass Book or a set of Mass Books at £2 per book in memory of someone dear to you or requesting prayers for a special intention. Please see Kathryn Timmons who will advise on the wording to be used and arrange for inserts in the books you sponsor.
After Mass: Please come and join us in the Social Centre for a cup of tea/coffee/soft drink and a chat. If you are a newcomer or a visitor you are particularly welcome.
