Season of Lent: To mark the beginning of the season of Lent, parishioners are invited to wear something purple to Mass next Sunday.
The Parish Lenten Retreat: This will take place on Saturday 21st March. Those who would like to attend are asked to sign up on the list at the back of church which gives full details.
Lent Lunches: These will take place in Trinity Rooms (Holy Trinity Church in Barrow) at 12.30pm on Fridays from 28th February to 3rd April.

Parishioners are invited to join any of the “Prayer and devotion together” sessions and, if they are unable to attend, to indicate on the sheet at the back of church the personal intentions for which they would like prayers offered in their absence.
Congratulations: To Terry and Sheila who celebrate 66 years of marriage. They were married in this church on Saturday 20th February 1954.

SPUC Youth Conference: The Melton branch of SPUC offered sponsorship to any young person wishing to attend this annual meeting. In the event, a student from Durham University took up the offer. Her letter to Wilf is posted at the back of church for anyone who would like to read it.
Quiz and Curry night: Millie andMatthew will be travelling to Namibia with their school, De Lisle, and Schools Worldwide to help local schoolchildren. Their first fund-raising venture will be a quiz and curry night on Saturday 28th March at 6.00pm in the Church Hall. Please see the poster at the back of church.
Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes: This year’s diocesan pilgrimage to Lourdes led by Bishop Patrick will be from 12th-17thJuly. The price for five nights is £755 (air) or £655 (train). Mount St Bernard Abbey: A documentary about the monks of Mount St Bernard Abbey near Coalville has received excellent reviews because, among other things, it is the only Trappist monastery in England and it is also the home of Tynt Meadow Beer, an English Trappist Ale.
