Coronavirus: Following a directive from the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales, we shall be proceeding as follows until the situation improves:
(1) Holy Communion will only be given in the hand and not on the tongue. Holy Communion from the chalice will not take place.
(2) There will be no Sign of Peace.
(3) Holy Water stoups will be emptied.
(4) Hymn books and Mass books will not be used. Hymns will be on a printed sheet attached to this newsletter.
(5) Collection: the Offertory collection will not be taken. You are asked to place your envelopes/offerings at the end of Mass in the baskets by Our Lady’s statue at the front of church or at the back of church beneath the notice board.
(6) Refreshments after Mass are to be discontinued.
Thank you for your understanding.

Theme of today’s Mass: Jesus answered and said to her, "Whoever drinks this water will be thirsty again; but anyone who drinks the water I shall give will never be thirsty again; the water that I shall give will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”
Sick List: Please pray for the following members of our parish: Bernard Moyers, Patrick Hodgson, Tod Smith, Angela Doyle, Ida De Melo, Maurice Nixon, Eva Shirreffs, Stefania Stasior, Irene Pallot.
Stations of the Cross: This afternoon at 4.00pm. This is a beautiful service which lasts just over twenty minutes.
Lent Reflections: The third reflection provided by the Justice and Peace Group is attached to this newsletter.
The Parish Lenten Retreat: Sadly, this has now been cancelled. The priest who was due to lead the retreat is in self-isolation after a visit to Italy.
CAFOD Lenten Fast Day: If you forgot your envelope last Sunday, please place your envelopes or offerings today in the basket near the statue of Our Lady. Monies will be sent to CAFOD this week.
Lent Lunches andLent Study Groups: Please see the notice at the back of church for details. All welcome.
Prayer and Devotion Together:
Monday 16th March at 10.00am: “Holy Rosary”
Tuesday 17th March at 3.00pm: “Divine Mercy”
Wednesday 18th March at 11.00am: “Holy Rosary”
Red Missio Boxes: Please bring in your little red Missio boxes and leave them at the back of church so that they can be emptied before the end of March.
St Matthew’s Gospels: The copies of St Matthew’s gospel which were offered free to parishioners over the last two weeks were in fact paid for by the Friends of St Gregory’s. Sincere thanks to this group who provide so many “extras” to the parish.
Parish Charity: We have raised over £170 for Loughborough Town of Sanctuary. Wouldn’t it be great if we could reach £200 by the end of Lent?
Finances: Collection: 8th March: £94.10. Candles: £6.50. Many thanks. (Cheques to be made payable to: St Gregory’s RC Church)
Quiz and Curry night: Because of the current coronavirus situation, this event has been postponed and will be rescheduled for a date in September.
PPC Meeting: The date of the next meeting is this coming Wednesday at 7.30pm in Barrow after 7.00pm Mass. Please give some thought to any item that you would like to be raised.
Holy Week Pilgrimage to Walsingham: Friday 3rd to Sunday 12th April: A chance to walk from Keyworth to Walsingham in the company of like-minded Christians and spend the Easter Triduum there. For more information please visit www.studentcross.org.uk or contact Damien: damienmsweeney@gmail.com.
Mount St Bernard Abbey: A documentary about the monks of Mount St Bernard Abbey near Coalville has received excellent reviews. For more information: www.facebook.com/outsidethecityfilm  or www.outsidethecityfilm.com
Mass online: If you know a parishioner who is unwell or housebound and unable to get to Mass on a Sunday, they may be interested in the link which has been added to the Home Page of the parish website and which allows one to view Mass being celebrated at the Cathedral in Nottingham on each day of the week.
