Coronavirus: Following a directive from the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales, we shall be proceeding as follows until the situation improves:
(1) Holy Communion will only be given in the hand and not on the tongue. Holy Communion from the chalice will not take place.
(2) There will be no Sign of Peace.
(3) Holy Water stoups will be emptied.
(4) Hymn books and Mass books will not be used. Hymns will be on a printed sheet attached to this newsletter.
(5) Collection: the Offertory collection will not be taken. You are asked to place your envelopes/offerings at the end of Mass in the baskets by Our Lady’s statue at the front of church or at the back of church beneath the notice board.
(6) Refreshments after Mass are to be discontinued.

Stations of the Cross: This afternoon at 4.00pm. This is a beautiful service which lasts just over twenty minutes.

The Parish Lenten Retreat: Sadly, this has now been cancelled. The priest who was due to lead the retreat is in self-isolation after a visit to Italy.
CAFOD Lenten Fast Day: If you forgot your envelope last Sunday, please place your envelopes or offerings today in the basket near the statue of Our Lady. Monies will be sent to CAFOD this week.

Red Missio Boxes: Please bring in your little red Missio boxes and leave them at the back of church so that they can be emptied before the end of March.
St Matthew’s Gospels: The copies of St Matthew’s gospel which were offered free to parishioners over the last two weeks were in fact paid for by the Friends of St Gregory’s. Sincere thanks to this group who provide so many “extras” to the parish.
Parish Charity: We have raised over £170 for Loughborough Town of Sanctuary. Wouldn’t it be great if we could reach £200 by the end of Lent?
Finances: Collection: 8th March: £94.10. Candles: £6.50. Many thanks. (Cheques to be made payable to: St Gregory’s RC Church)
Quiz and Curry night: Because of the current coronavirus situation, this event has been postponed and will be rescheduled for a date in September.
PPC Meeting: The date of the next meeting is this coming Wednesday at 7.30pm in Barrow after 7.00pm Mass. Please give some thought to any item that you would like to be raised.
Holy Week Pilgrimage to Walsingham: Friday 3rd to Sunday 12th April: A chance to walk from Keyworth to Walsingham in the company of like-minded Christians and spend the Easter Triduum there. For more information please visit www.studentcross.org.uk or contact Damien: damienmsweeney@gmail.com.
