Confirmation preparation: It is hoped to hold the first meeting of the confirmation group after Mass on Sunday 12th May. Further dates to be confirmed, but in the first instance it is planned that meetings will be held on: 12th May, 2nd June, 16th June, 23rd June, 30th June, 7th July, 1st September and 8th September. Confirmation is on 20thSeptember.
First Holy Communion: A reminder that five of our young parishioners will be making their First Holy Communion at the 9.00am Mass on Sunday 9thJune.

Register of Deaths:During the Bidding Prayers on the first Sunday of every month, we are reminded of those members of our parish who died during that particular month. Details of these parishioners are recorded in a Register of Deaths. These details are now duplicated in digital format and a printed version can be consulted in the file which can be found at the back of church. If you are aware of any errors or omissions, please let Father John or Peter Fryer know and the necessary steps will be taken to rectify the situation.
Nottingham Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes: This will take place from 14th– 19th July. There are details in the plastic wallet in the rack at the back of church and/or: www.tangney-tours.com/nottingham.
Catholic social action weekend: Friday 10thto Monday 13th May in Lincoln:
Friday 10th May: 7-9pm at St. Peter & St.Paul, 2A Skellingthorpe Rd. LN6 7RB - A meeting of the new Justice & Peace / Catholic Social Action Group. Further details from Mary Wilford, 01522 800114 or mwilford@virginmedia.com.
Saturday 11th May:11am to 3pm, in St. Hugh’s Hall - Catholic Voices Workshop (following 10am Mass at St. Hugh’s). Catholics are often challenged about their faith and struggle to find the right response, especially when the more sensitive issues are raised. Georgia Clarke, from Catholic Voices, will talk about how to communicate our Faith in a positive way. The cost is £10 including lunch. No meeting on 12 May but we are encouraged to think and pray about supporting the work of NOMAD / YMCA in Lincoln, particularly the cost of building the new Day Centre.
Monday 13th May:7.30 to 9 pm - Catholics are invited to the Active Faith Network meeting and to consider joining one of the six subgroups dealing with Homelessness, Inclusion, Debt, Food Poverty, Health & Well-Being and Children & Young People. The meeting is in Birchwood Library, Larchwood Crescent, LN6 0NA, hosted by Ignite Church and GLAFN.
Prayers for fellow parishioners: When you are away from St Gregory’s and you call in to a church for Mass or for private prayer, please remember to pray for our parish community. It would be lovely if you could take a photo of the church you visit and pass it on to Peter for inclusion on the parish website. We shall be able to build a picture gallery of churches throughout the world where we have prayed for each other. We have already made a start with photos of churches in Norway, France, USA as well as UK. These can be viewed on the website in the “Gallery”.
Hearing Loop: For those with hearing aids, please switch your aid to the T setting to hear direct from the microphones.
After Mass: Please come and join us in the Social Centre for a cup of tea/coffee/soft drink and a chat. If you are a newcomer or a visitor you are particularly welcome.
