Sick list: Please pray for the following members of our parish: Bernard Moyers, Maurice Nixon, Irene Pallot, Eva Shirreffs, Stefania Stasior, Ida De Melo, Angela Doyle, Beryl Ford.
The Feast of the Divine Mercy: Today, Sunday, 28th April, there will be an afternoon of devotionsled by Fr John at the church of Our Lady of Good Counsel, Gleneagles Avenue, Rushey Mead, Leicester LE4 7ZB. The afternoon starts at 2.30pm and will finish around 6.00pm after Mass. Please see the poster at the back of church for more details.
Easter Services: Sincere thanks to everyone who contributed in any way to the beautiful services over Easter: the readers; the ladies who cleaned the church and arranged the beautiful flowers for Easter Sunday; our music makers and, of course, our incomparable altar servers.
Terry Cantle:parishioners will note that there are three Masses this week for the repose of the soul of Terry Cantle whose requiem mass took place last Friday. For many years Terry served the parish as a Reader, a Eucharistic Minister and organiser of the annual pilgrimage to Our Lady’s shrine in Walsingham, which he carried out with a military precision of which his former employers would have been proud.
Confirmation preparation: It is hoped to hold the first meeting of the confirmation group after Mass on Sunday 12th May. Further dates to be confirmed, but in the first instance: 12th May, 2nd June, 16th June, 23rd June, 30th June, 7th July, 1st September and 8th September. Confirmation is on 20th September.
First Holy Communion: A reminder that five of our young parishioners will be making their First Holy Communion at the 9.00am Mass on Sunday 9th June.
Register of Deaths:During the Bidding Prayers on the first Sunday of every month, we are reminded of those members of our parish who died during that particular month. Details of these parishioners are recorded in a Register of Deaths. These details are now duplicated in digital format and a printed version can be consulted in the file which can be found at the back of church. If you are aware of any errors or omissions, please let Father John or Peter Fryer know and the necessary steps will be taken to rectify the situation.
