First Communion: Today, Oliver is making his first Holy Communion at the 11.00 Mass in Syston. However, he wishes to be part of our parish Mass this morning and so he will be involved in the Welcome, the Readings and the Offertory Procession with his mother and sister.We should remember him in our prayers.
Eucharistic Ministers: at Mass today, the feast of Corpus Christi, the Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion will renew their commitment in a short ceremony.
Ronald Sleath RIP: A member of this parish since the early 60s, Ron passed away in Leicester Royal Infirmary on Saturday 19thMay. His funeral will be on Friday 8th June at 11am at St. Gregory’s – this will be a funeral service followed by Loughborough Crematorium at 12.30pm. Please pray for the repose of his soul and for his wife, Pauline.

Sponsor a Mass Book: The new set of Mass books began last Sunday. Please give some thought to the possibility of sponsoring a Mass Book or a set of Mass Books at £2 per book in memory of someone dear to you or requesting prayers for a special intention. Please see Kathryn Timmons who will advise on the wording to be used and arrange for inserts in the books you sponsor.
Good News for the East Midlands: An account of the background to, and the story of, the Diocese of Nottingham, written by Canon Anthony Dolan. Details are on the flyer at the back of Church. If interested in obtaining a copy, please speak to Paul Carroll. If you would like to “look before you buy”, Kathryn Timmons has kindly offered to lend her copy.
Parish Retreat: This will take place next Saturday 9th June at the Rosminian Centre (10.00 – 3.00). Details are posted at the back of church. Please sign up if you would like to attend. Transport available to those who need it.

Quiz night for Namibia: Young parishioner, Daisy Whiteman, is organising a Quiz Night to raise funds for her school charity trip to Namibia. This will be held on Saturday 16th June from 6.00pm to 10.00pm in the Social Centre. The cost will be £5 per adult and £2 for children. Bring your own drinks. Food is provided. There will be a quiz and a raffle and all proceeds will go to her Namibia fund raising. If you have any queries, would like to buy a ticket (or make a donation), please contact Jo Whiteman on 07740431120 or speak to either Daisy or Jo at church.
