O God, listen in kindness to our prayers for our brothers and sisters who are sick and grant that all who are oppressed by pain, distress or other afflictions may know that they are united to Christ in his suffering for the salvation of the world. Lord, may your Mother pray for us. Hail Mary …

Nottingham Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes: The Diocese will be going on pilgrimage to Lourdes from 16th to 20th July 2018. Knights of St Columba quiz: The next Knights of St. Columba quiz will be at 7.30pm on Saturday 12th May at Sacred Heart church hall. The price will be £6 as usual (£3 for students), to include a wine and cheese supper, and all proceeds will go to the Diocesan Bursary Fund, for the training and support of our Priests and Deacons. Teams can be formed on the night, so don't worry about coming on your own or as a couple. If you would like to come along, if possible please contact Will Holland on 07811 353 248; this helps with the catering.
St. Pius V:(feast day on Monday) Born at Bosco in Italy in 1504, Pius entered the Dominican Order and became Pope in 1565. He put into practice the reforming decrees of the Council of Trent which ended in 1563: in his name the Catechism, the Breviary and the Missal were implemented, and these endured until the recent reform in this century. He encouraged the practice of saying the Rosary. He died in 1572.
